The Maharashtra SSC Board exam covers a lot of ground — Maths (two papers), Science (two papers), English, a second language, History and Political Science, Geography, and optionally Sanskrit, Hindi, or another subject. Each paper has its own format, question types, and mark distribution. A student who prepares all of them the same way invariably under-prepares for some and over-prepares for others.
Navneet produces a separate digest for each SSC subject — each one built specifically for that paper’s format, not a generic guide adapted from a different curriculum. This guide covers what each digest provides, how they’re structured, and which subjects benefit most from the dedicated preparation approach.

What Makes Navneet Digests Different for SSC Preparation?
Every Navneet digest is built from the Maharashtra SSC syllabus outward — not adapted from another curriculum or set of generic notes. This means the chapter sequence, the question types, the terminology, and the answer format all match precisely what the Maharashtra State Board tests on its Activity Sheets and board papers.
Three things that distinguish the Navneet digest series across all subjects: every digest includes the actual Board Question Paper or Activity Sheet from the most recent exam year — so students practise against a real paper, not a generic mock. Every digest includes SMART DigiBook App access with e-copy and concept videos. And each subject’s digest is formatted specifically for that paper: Maths digests are structured around worked solutions and proof writing; Science digests prioritise formula lists, diagrams, and numericals; Language digests separate grammar from comprehension; Social Science digests include timelines and activity-based Q&A.
Subject-by-Subject: How Each Digest Is Structured
| Subject | What the Digest Provides | Key Format Benefit |
| Maths Part 1 (Algebra) | Formula lists, step-by-step solved exercises, HOTS, Board Question Paper | Marks awarded stepwise — method presented correctly at every step |
| Maths Part 2 (Geometry) | Full theorem proofs with Given/To Prove/Construction/Proof, neat diagrams, (**) exam theorem markers | Logic and diagram presentation — not just the final answer |
| Science Part 1 (Physics & Chemistry) | Chapter formula lists, labelled diagrams, worked numericals, HOTS, Can You Tell/Recall answers, Activity Sheets | Numericals require format (Given, To find, Formula, Answer) — not just arithmetic |
| Science Part 2 (Biology) | Memory maps, labelled biological diagrams, HOTS, Activity Sheets, Board Q Paper | Diagram labels carry direct marks — practised, not just read |
| History & Political Science | Chapter summaries, all exercise answers, timeline/table activities, model Activity Sheets for both semesters | Concept understanding, not just date memorisation |
| Geography | Map & diagram Q&A, chapter summaries, model question papers for both semesters, DigiBook animated videos | Map-marking integrated per chapter — not an afterthought |
| English (Kumarbharati) | Warming Up/English Workshop guidance, poem appreciations (points + paragraph format), separate Language Study and Non-Textual Passages sections, Writing Skills, July 2025 Activity Sheet | Skill-based organisation — grammar practice separate from comprehension |
| Marathi (Aksharbharati / Kumarbharati) | Activity-based Q&A aligned to the board Activity Sheet, grammar support, writing skills, July 2025 Activity Sheet | Format-based practice — activity answers, not generic summaries |
| Sanskrit (Amod / Anand) | Word meanings, literal translations, lesson-wise grammar (Sandhi/Samasa/Vibhakti), all स्वाध्यायक्रम answers, कृतियाँ, July 2025 कृतिपत्रिका | Grammar taught in context — not as isolated rules |
Mathematics: Algebra and Geometry
Maths has two separate 40-mark papers, each with a distinct preparation logic. Algebra (Part 1) is numerical and procedural — formula recall, stepwise calculation, and correct presentation of working. Geometry (Part 2) is logical and proof-based — every answer requires a stated Given, To Prove, Construction (where applicable), and step-by-step logical reasoning, with a correctly labelled diagram.
The Maths Part 1 digest covers: Algebra, Statistics and Probability — formula lists, step-by-step exercises, HOTS, and previous Board paper. The Maths Part 2 digest covers: Similarity, Circle, Geometric Constructions, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, and Mensuration — with (**) markers for frequently-tested board theorems, worked constructions, and July 2025 Board Question Paper.
Science: Part 1 and Part 2
Science and Technology is split into Physics/Chemistry (Part 1) and Biology/Environmental Science (Part 2), each tested in a separate paper. The two digests are structured differently because the papers test differently — Part 1 is heavily numerical and formula-based; Part 2 is diagram-intensive and concept-application-based.
Science Part 1 — Physics and Chemistry: All 8 chapters (Gravitation, Periodic Classification, Chemical Reactions, Effects of Electric Current, Heat, Refraction of Light, Lenses, Metallurgy) with formula lists, labelled diagrams, step-by-step numericals in board format (Given → To find → Formula → Answer), and HOTS model answers including Use Your Brain Power! and Think About It! prompts. ₹220 on Navneet Store.
Science Part 2 — Biology and Environmental Science: Memory maps, labelled biological diagrams, HOTS model answers, and Board Activity Sheets across all Biology and environment chapters. ₹158 on Navneet Store.
Social Science and Languages
Social Science (History & Pol. Sci. + Geography) and languages are where students most commonly underprepare relative to their actual ability — because these subjects reward format familiarity, not just content knowledge. A student who understands a poem but doesn’t know how to write an appreciation, or who knows all the geography content but hasn’t practised map-marking, loses marks that don’t reflect their understanding.
The Navneet digests for these subjects are format-first: the History & Political Science digest (₹155) includes model Activity Sheets for both semesters; the Geography digest (₹105) integrates map and diagram Q&A within each chapter; English includes poem appreciations in two formats and a separate Language Study section. Each is designed so students practise the actual exam format, not just review the content.

Final Thoughts
The SSC board year rewards students who understand that each subject is tested differently — and who prepare for the paper format, not just the content. Navneet’s subject-specific digests are built with exactly this distinction in mind. Browse the complete Std 10 range on Navneet Store or visit your nearest authorised Navneet retail partner.
